  1. 1) Guys do you think we should trust media after watching this?
    2) How will you react if you will know that the news channel you are watching is giving you fake news and what if you believe on something that media said and you react on it and then afterward you know that everything was faked?
    3) What do you thing government should support/stop them with this kind of fake news?

  2. 1) You should not really begin to trust, or stop trusting media simply based on this. Because in all honesty you cannot really know for certain whether or not what you see in front of you is true or false. We simply assume it is true. The best defense against such things though, is critical thinking. Simply use your head and do not believe everything you see portrayed in the news.

2)Well I would not really be affected considering I do not watch much news to begin with, but I would feel quite betrayed because of the fact that something like news could be lied about. It would be more disappointing then anything else. Something that you base your conception of what is going on in the world around you being a lie, it would be quite a shocker.

3)Of course I would want the government to stop these kinds of things, but whose to say they do not control them. Assuming the government did in fact control this sort of thing we would definitely be unfortunate victims of propaganda and as a result we would have a conception of the world around us which would be very different from what the world really is. And who is to say that we aren't already victims of propaganda. In all honesty, you cant really tell.

  3. 1. Jon is absolutely right, I would like to agree with him here that we cannot just stop trusting media. We should ourselves realize what's correct and what's not.

    2. There are some news channels in countries that do give out same fake news which is highly shocking. I've been through these channels. It's basically pretty sad.

    3. The government can definitely give out a helping hand to these kind of people who work for media and stop producing fake news.

  4. This video never changed my perception of media and I never really trusted media. All these media streams such as CNN,Fox news,CBC,BBC,ABC, and these are all from one main media stream called VIACOM. These media streams all have a biased in their own way and never really get the message out without forming a bias. Canada gets most of their media from other international countries and changes it in their own way by adjusting spelling, and putting in their own bias. For ex. one recent news that has been let out is the death of Osama Bin Laden. Personally I think that he died a while back and that they were waiting for the right time to release it. There were other important things going on in the news such as The Royal wedding and other things and they did not want to interupt them. That is just my opinion and I think the government should do a better job of getting the correct form of news in the best way with very few or no biases.

  5. It is impossible to control everything that goes in the media, things like that are going to happen whether we like it or not. Those are examples of people who use media to scam others, they manipulate other people by basically using appeal to pity and emotions to make their pleas seem believable. I was watching this documentary and there were many example of people who got scammed into sending money abroad to a person that they met online. That unknown person usually befriends them and very cunningly asks them money, the reason might be for a medical treatment or to simply provide funds for them to go to school, etc. Like Jon said, while using forms of media (in this case, the world wide web), people should have the notion of what is good or bad and use their common sense. Sure, there are some other forms of media which are used for propaganda but overall i think one cannot stop trusting the media. We have to admit that it has greatly helped us to stay connected with the poeple and with news happening around the world.

Of course i think the goverment should help into stopping those activities but like i mentioned before, the media is so difficult to control that it becomes an almost impossible task for the government. However, that should not be a reason for them to stop taking legal actions against those indivisuals or institutions and the punishment should be a very significant one.

Well, if you believe in the media, your views on practically everything around you will change everyday. So to answer your question, no but yes. You can't believe everything you hear but you also cannot being absent minded to the news. The news is distributed to the public to let the citizens be aware of what is going on. But like this video, you can't believe everything of what's being released to the public.

    2) How will you react if you will know that the news channel you are watching is giving you fake news and what if you believe on something that media said and you react on it and then afterward you know that everything was faked?
Well to be put in a situation where what I was told by the media would make me react, I would definatly do my research on the subject. That's just personally how I react to news and events that really catch my attention. I like to know every little detail about the situation in order to fully and completely understand what's going on, instead of relying on one source.

    3) What do you thing government should support/stop them with this kind of fake news?
I'm not sure we should result to censorship... mainly because if we were to be controlled by the government as to what's being released, than we can only rely on that. It's an iffy topic to debate on, because on one hand it would definatly help those who are scammed by what they believe in the media, but then again we'll be faced with hard, cold, truth, which for some is hard to comprehend and deal with.
